The First Monday of the Year
Mike DeHaan
For some, this is still a holiday: with New Years Day on a Saturday, the actual "day off" was deferred to today.
On Saturday, I had noted that many of my fellow writers, known to me only through FaceBook and Suite 101, were back on their writing schedules. Freelancers never sleep...or, at least, take few breaks as scheduled by the powers that be.
On the flip side, at least one search engine has not yet found this site. I expect the Environmental Graffiti editors to return to their posts on Tuesday. Perhaps I should say, "...return to my posts...". But wait: I did indeed see some new EG posts this morning, so there is hope for me. However, that hope has not been realized by the close of the day.
The discipline continues: check my article sites, check FaceBook, Digg and Reddit for new items (whether flagged by friends or with interesting story ideas), and begin this blog. Last night I had done some Amazon research for new Squidoo lenses; that should be my next activity.

New Squidoo Lens(es)
Lucite Bar Stool by housingworksauctions
The first new lens of the New Year is "Casual Dining Chairs and Bar Stools". This continues my "Furniture" group of lenses in time for the January buying season.
I also update my Lensography every time I add a lens to Squidoo.
The second new lens highlights Wood Computer Desks. I shared this on Facebook and Digg.
When I publish my next lens - the 10th - Squidoo claims I will receive some type of reward. I wonder what that lens will be.
