The DeHaan "90 Second" Timer Page:
Click on the button; you will see an "alert" message 90 seconds later.
On 2013-03-19, there's a new Traffup feature that makes this timer even more important...see a later paragraph for details!

The Reason for the "90 Second Timer"
I earn credits by using TraffUp , so that TraffUp will generate visitors to my DeHaan Directory web site, hoping to lure them to read my articles at Decoded Science, Environmental Graffiti or Suite 101; my blogs at DeHaan Services or DeHaan Fitness and Weight Control; or my product-oriented Squidoo Lenses.
To earn those credits, I click on a link, then do something else until I remember to close that page and click on the next link.
I wrote my first "90 Second Timer" to remind myself. The FireFox browser (v10) brings the pane with the "Alert" message to the front. So this page catches my attention every minute and a half.
Why use a 90 second timer when TraffUp has shorter times? They only allow 35 clicks an hour (as of 2012-02-11). I find that the 90 second delay keeps me from getting the "Please wait" message for most of the day.
Why use TraffUp?
If you have a non-monetized landing page, TraffUp can bring you traffic.
If you have a non-monetized blog or public service announcement, TraffUp can bring you traffic.
TraffUp is free, especially if you're willing to click on links.

(Added March 19, 2013): Identify that Image!
"TraffUP Turing Test as Identify an Image" image by Mike DeHaan
Today TraffUP added a little Turing Test to ensure people actually interact with the pages.
They've shortened the countdown to 15 seconds, and then the page adds the "Please identify the picture to continue" at the top.
Your response is to click the 3-item drop-down menu and select the right answer. In this image, it's "burger". Then click the yellow "Submit" button.
After that, click the red-and-white 'X' to finish the page. If you did not identify the image correctly, or at all, then you do not get any points.
This is a "Turing test", like a CAPTCHA, because identifying an image is easier for people than for computers. My guess is that TraffUP suspected too many people were running robot programs to score points.
TraffUP still puts a limit on the number of pages you can browse in an hour. So pace yourself...or let my 90 Second Timer keep time.
