Two Eager Clients, Too Busy to Blog
Mike DeHaan
This is a classic situation. I have two clients, each eager to complete their projects. I also have some articles on my plate and tasks for my church, all of which are time-bounded and high priority.
As they used to say about the cast in a musical: "All singing! All dancing!"
So this entry will remain short and sweet...possibly bittersweet, possibly short on sweetness.
I did work for the clients, hopefully keeping them happy for a day. Sometimes the ambition to provide clients with their needs is limited by how much direction has been given. So that is a win.
I also came up with a strategy for my next Suite 101 article. At over 1800 words, it was about twice the limit for that site. Cutting it into two articles was one strategy, but Suite 101 does not permit a simple "Part 1" & "Part 2" strategy. Each article should stand on its own, even if it links to "next" or "parent" articles. That is a work in progress.

Environmental Graffiti Articles from the Past
Striped Killer Shrimp by Simon Devin
In the ongoing series, we present two plants and one animal. Hogweed is quite remarkable as the title indicates: Hogweed, The Flower that Could Leave You with Sunburn for Years. Surprisingly, hogweed is also an ornamental flower and a food for pigs.
Aloe Vera: The Plant with Miraculous Healing Powers continues to be a highly-viewed article on the Environmental Graffiti site. This is a bit surprising since there are web sites dedicated to selling Aloe Vera products. I was not too happy with the editor's decision to use the word "miraculous" in the title, but I am not complaining.
Could Eastern Europe's Killer Shrimp Be Heading for America Next? is the deliberately provocative title about a particular species that jumped the English Channel and is ravaging a water reservoir in Cambridgeshire.

Suite 101 Articles from the Past

Two insects and one fish join us. The Earwig: A Best Friend To The Garden Or A Health Hazard? describes the two sides of an earwig's nature...or, at least, its relationship with people.
Stink Bugs or Shield Bug, Please Eliminate This Insect Pest! reflects the attitude of many, many people in the autumn when shield bugs seek winter lodgings in peoples' homes. The article points out a nice, non-toxic way to kill stink bugs without squashing them. Unless, of course, you want to stink out a friend's home.
I am amazed that How To Treat A Catfish Sting, Including Any Venom still attracts a good share of my Suite 101 readers during the dead of a Canadian winter. Possibly the fishing is still good in the southern USA. As a youngster, I knew that getting jabbed by a catfish's fin hurt a lot, but I had not known that it actually has venom.
