A Busy Sunday for this DeHaan Blog
Mike DeHaan
Ran with the Running Room and attended church. After lunch, I settled down to begin publicizing yesterday's Suite 101 article The Simple Logic of Hawking and Mlodinow's "The Grand Design" as well as, on Squidoo, The DeHaan Lens for Hawking and Mlodinow's "The Grand Design".
However, I also had to deal with a critical comment on How to Download Music Legally, Safely and Cheaply. The criticism was about 90% correct: an MP3 file cannot run, and therefore cannot propagate itself. Therefore it is not a "virus". However, some malware does indeed damage MP3 files. The files may then be treated as "infected" by anti-virus software, so it would appear that the computer is infected. My mistake came because one of my sources cited an infection caused by visiting a site which shared MP3 files.
So I spent some time with that earlier article, as well as updating my social bookmark sites for "The Grand Design".
Late this evening, I had 10 up-votes versus one down-vote in Reddit/r/PhilosophyofScience, as well as a possibly related jump in page-views in Suite101. This feels good.
