Jan. 22, 2011: Busy Writing
Saturday, Saturday, to Work or Play?

That's not really a question. My stack of work for writing includes:
Besides, "play" would involve going for a long run in the nice mild winter. "Mild" means that snow is still snow, but I should not get frostbite.
I went with "follow up some previous articles", largely because I had been wrestling with one topic every breakfast for a week or more. My preference is to write the article, simply to put the issue out of my mind.
- Keep drafting the pages for one client
- Remind another client to give me feedback
- Decide where to start my blog on running
- Follow up some previous articles by writing new ones

Intelligent Design and "The Grand Design"
Barack Obama and Stephen Hawking by White House [Pete Souza]
So I did indeed write my article for Suite 101.
After my previous review of "The Grand Design", I realized that both that book and the theory of Intelligent Design shared the word, "design".
By coincidence or design?
Fallacies Shared by Intelligent Design and "The Grand Design" points out several problems common to the I.D. theories and the conclusion reached by Hawking and Mlodinow.
Unfortunately, a Suite 101 article is too short to get to what may be the most delicious point: one case where, in my humble opinion, Hawking and Mlodinow actually support one of the arguments made by Intelligent Design proponents. Let's see if that turns into a future article.

Suite 101 Articles from the Past

Despite publicizing the above article, I would be remiss if I were to miss this feature. Today, all three articles are about Mennonites. I had written a mesh of articles. One reason was that the "Mennonite" section in Suite 101's Protestantism section was empty. As a practicing Mennonite, it was clearly my mission to fill that gap.
This picture shows Shaker furniture; the Mennonites will have their images, too.
The second reason was that "Mennonite furniture" garners quite a bit of online advertising here in southern Ontario. These articles might just catch the advertisers.
Mennonite, Amish and Shaker Products is an overview for items made and sold by those three distinct yet vaguely similar religious denominations.
I returned to exploring Mennonite history with the foundation article, Anabaptists Preceded Mennonites in History. Other denominations carried forward Anabaptist beliefs as well as Mennonites.
Why the Name “Mennonites”? explains how Menno Simons became so deeply associated with this branch of Anabaptists. As a side note, "Lutherans" and the "Amish" were named for the early leaders of their denominations, also.

Well, alright, here is a picture of Menno Simons. He was worried he might not get into the later articles.
